Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference in a PT and a PTA? Physical Therapy Assistants provide the same basic care and treatment under the guidance of a PT. The difference is only a PT performs a patient’s evaluation to determine a diagnosis, prognosis, and develops a rehabilitation program that is tailored to the patient’s prognosis.

 

  • What do I need to receive physical therapy treatment? A prescription or referral from any physician, surgeon, physician assistant, nurse practitioner and/or chiropractor.

 

  • Is Physical Therapy is covered by my health insurance? Health insurance typically pays for a portion or all of PT treatments. Please call if you have any questions about your specific insurance.

 

  • Can I choose where I receive my physical therapy? Yes, the facility where you receive physical therapy is your decision. Many times a physician or surgeon will recommend a specific therapy clinic, however you are not obligated to attend therapy that particular clinic.
