Massage Techniques

Swedish Massage

One of the most commonly taught and well-known massage techniques, Swedish Massage is a vigorous system of treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation.
Our therapists use a combination of kneading, rolling, vibration, percussive and tapping movements with the application of lotion to reduce friction on the skin.


Shiatsu is a form of Japanese massage using acupressure. Therapists use finger and palm pressure to improve circulation, relieve stiff muscles and alleviate stress.

With Shiatsu, the pressure feels more localized, because the finger pads are used to apply pressure for most of the treatment instead of the entire palm.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.

Myofascial Release

Fascia, or the body’s connective tissue, covers every muscle, bone, nerve, artery and vein as well as all of our internal organs. In a normal healthy state, fascia is relaxed and has the ability to stretch and move without restriction. Physical trauma, scarring, inflammation or repetitive stress injuries, causes the fascia to lose its pliability and become a source of tension to the rest of the body. Our therapists use various techniques such as sustained pressure and stretching to loosen tense areas in the muscles and fascia. This reduces pain, relieves muscle tension and increases joint mobility.
